Can't post to Facebook from your phone?
When the Facebook app refuses to publish a post with photos, it's almost always the app itself — not your account and not your photos. Work through these fixes in order; most people are posting again by step 3.
1. Give Facebook full access to your photos
On your iPhone go to Settings → Facebook → Photos and choose Full Access. If Facebook can only see some photos, posts with pictures often fail silently.
2. Force-close Facebook and reopen it
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen, pause, then swipe the Facebook app card up and away. Reopen it and try the post again. This clears a stuck upload queue — the most common cause of posts that spin forever.
3. Discard any stuck draft
Open Facebook and look at the top of your feed for a post that says "Uploading" or "Couldn't post". Tap it and choose Discard. A stuck upload blocks every post behind it.
4. Update the Facebook app
Open the App Store, tap your profile picture, and update Facebook if an update is waiting. Meta fixes posting bugs in almost every release.
5. Get photos out of Notes the right way
Facebook can't attach photos straight from the Notes app. Open the note, tap the photo, tap the Share button and choose Save Image. The photo is now in your Photos library — attach it from there when you create the Facebook post.
6. Log out and back in
In Facebook: Menu → Settings & privacy → Settings → Log out, then sign back in. If it still fails after this, delete the Facebook app and reinstall it from the App Store (your account and photos are safe).
The fallback that always works
Skip the app entirely: open Safari, go to facebook.com and log in. Posting from the browser uses a different system than the app, so it works even when the app is misbehaving.
Tip: if Facebook shows a mobile layout that's hard to use, tap the aA button in Safari's address bar and choose Request Desktop Website.
