How does an ad become featured?

Accepted Answer

The owner of an approved ad can click Feature this ad on the ad detail page. This creates a secure checkout session for R49. Once the payment is confirmed, the ad is marked as featured and gets a star badge and preferential placement.

How long does a featured ad last?

Accepted Answer

A featured ad lasts for 7 days from the moment the payment is confirmed. You can see the exact expiry date and time in your My ads dashboard.

What happens after I pay?

The ad is immediately promoted with a Featured badge and shown in featured sections on the home page and in browse results. Helderberg Classifieds never stores your card or bank details.

Question 4

What happens when the feature expires?

Accepted Answer

When the 7-day period ends, the Featured badge is removed and the ad stops appearing in featured sections. The ad itself remains live as a normal listing.

Question 5

Can I renew or extend a feature?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once a feature has expired, or if the ad is not currently featured, you can start a new checkout to add another 7 days. You cannot start a new checkout for an ad that is already featured and still active.

Are payments refundable?

Featured ad upgrades are a digital service that begins immediately after payment, so refunds are not normally offered. Contact us if a payment was made in error or was unauthorised.
